Example 1 Period of a head ache, period of pneumonia, period of diabetes mellitus from first onset and often until death, period of receiving or delivering psychotherapy, period of social authority surveillance of suspected abuse in a family, period where a care provider is mandated to provide care for a subject of care’s health issue, period of investigation and therapy of prostate cancer, period of delivering antibiotic therapy.

Example 2 Period of financial support.

Note 1 A health related period may be specialized in relation to a number of situations – a specific continuity of care process, care professional, a specific department, a specific health matter, etc.

Note 2 A health related period is delineated by a “start date and time” and an “end date and time”. While the statement of the start date is generally easy, the identification of the end date may be subject to specific rules that have to be agreed upon locally.
